We departed JFK airport late evening on time, after a glass of wine and a light lunch at the American Airlines Admirals Club (very nice). As we boarded we noticed (rather heard) a group of 4 young children and their parents seated across the aisle from us. They were very noisy initially, but quieted down once we were airborne and they had their dinner.
The flight to Barcelona was uneventful as it should be. We took a taxi to our hotel for a short rest before heading out to a nice tapas lunch at a small restaurant on a side street near Plaza Catalunya. We enjoyed anchovies, salade russa, a very tasty potato salad, some Pan con Tomate, and finally some wonderful Serrano ham.
It is a beautiful day here today, windy but great blue skies. We are looking forward to seeing more of Barcelona before boarding the NCL Jade for our cruise. More fun ahead.
I started this blog in September 2008 when I moved to downtown St. Petersburg, with the comment, “This is just a random, occasionally updated, collection of my musings about what is going on in my world and my new city.” There are probably fewer posts about my “new” city, now. However you can count on a continuation of food, restaurant and travel posts. I hope you enjoy this little journey in my world.
